Leveled Books
This site will help your student or child find a book that is at their independent reading level (if you are not sure what level they are at ask your child's teacher). Teachers will usually assign a letter level (A-Z) or a number level (i.e. 1, 1.5 is a first grade reading level).

Online Reading Assessment
Students can take an online reading test according to the reading level they are at (goes by grade level though). They suggest that students read more than one story and answer the questions but you can decide how many stories they read. Once they are finished they need to go all the way to the bottom of the page and click on "print the page". Unfortunately, the website does not seem to offer an answer key. However, they do suggest how you can grade the answers. Caution: make sure your students do not use the "up or down arrow" to scroll down the page. Once they click on an answer they MUST use the "stroller bar/arrow" that is on the screen. If they do not then the "up/down" arrow on the keyboard will result in there answer changing (i.e. from A to B).
